The Oklahoma State Cowboys are expected to see the returns of quarterback Mason Rudolph and wide receiver James Washington for their senior years.

Okay, so Bedam didn’t exactly fall in the favor of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. However the Stillwater faithful may have some good news coming this holiday season. NewsOK is reporting that Mason Rudolph and James Washington appear to be returning to the Cowboys for one more year.

As OSU gears up for their Alamo Bowl showdown with Colorado on December 29 in San Antonio, there was a question on whether or not two of their biggest offensive weapons would be back for their senior year. But now we apparently have our answer, and it’s good news.

Both Rudolph (21-9 with Oklahoma State) and Washington were part of a team led by Mike Gundy that went 9-3 this season and flirted with a Top 10 finish in the country. Rudolph passed for 3,777 yards and 25 touchdowns this year, while only being targeted for just four interceptions. His 63 percent completion was among the best in the Big 12.

Washington comes off his second consecutive 1,000-yard season, where he racked up 1,209 yards and nine touchdowns. He’s flirting with 3,000 career yards with the Cowboys, and he should eclipse that mark if he comes back next year.

The two was a very entertaining duo to watch, very reminiscent of the Brandon Weeden-Justin Blackmon days of just a few short years ago. In a report from NewsOK, Rudolph could be the first OSU player to have three different 3,000-yard seasons. Currently, he and Weeden are the only two players to have more than one of those seasons to their credit.

As of now, the Cowboys are still awaiting a few more decisions from some of their potential return players. At the very least, we know two of the biggest names on the roster should be suited up when the 2017 season gets underway.
