Twitter reacts to news of Carrie Fisher heart attack
Twitter blows up over news of Carrie Fisher’s “massive heart attack” on a plane en route from London to LAX. Here are some of the early reactions.
Carrie Fisher, who famously portrayed Princess Leia in the Star Wars franchise, suffered a “massive heart attack” on a plane from London to LAX on Friday. TMZ reports that she was returning home from her book tour when the incident occurred. Fisher reportedly stopped breathing for ten minutes, which has Star Wars fans on edge awaiting news. As one fan says, hopefully Fisher will be the one to break the 2016 curse.
Fisher went into cardiac arrest during the flight and CPA was administered by other people on the flight. Based on tweets from some of the passengers, there was a doctor and nurses on the flight. The plan landed in Los Angeles and she was rushed to the hospital by paramedics who met the plane on the tarmac.
She was rushed to the nearest hospital and we can only hope that the CPR was enough to keep her going until she could get medical assistance. This story is still developing, but it’s possible to speculate that if the plane landed in Los Angeles then she suffered the heart attack near the end of the flight, as the plane would have been able to land at another airport had it happened sooner.
She has been listed as being in “critical condition.”
