The Cleveland Browns were able to win a game Week 16 by beating the San Diego Chargers at home. Here is head coach Hue Jackson’s emotional victory speech.

It’s been a miserable season for the 2016 Cleveland Browns. They had not won a game on the season entering Week 16’s home game against the San Diego Chargers. At 0-14 on the year, getting a hapless Chargers team at home was the Browns’ best chance to win a game this season.

Cleveland got off to a fast start and the Browns were able to beat the Chargers 20-17 thanks to a pair of missed Josh Lambo field goals. Nobody has placed the blame on Browns head coach Hue Jackson for Cleveland’s dismal season.

He has his team playing hard every week, despite insufficient football talent. Here is Jackson getting emotional during his victory speech in the Browns locker room.

Jackson struggled to get out words in the post-game meeting with his players. He said this win was for everyone and especially the veterans who have remained upbeat in this trying rebuilding season.

Cleveland’s best player offensive tackle Joe Thomas directed the team’s attention to tight end Gary Barnidge. Barnidge would on the behalf of the 2016 Browns give Jackson the game ball for his first victory with the team.

For a team that will likely go 1-15 this season, it’s obvious that the group in that Cleveland locker room is united, win or loss. They’ve played hard enough this season to win a game and finally did so against a Chargers team that has fallen into utter disarray.

One would have to hope that Jackson gets at least another year to right this sunken ship in Cleveland. It is a massive rebuilding project that the front office is undertaking. At least Jackson and his team can celebrate Christmas this holiday season as winners.
