Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant pulled off a trick play and threw a touchdown pass to an open Jason Witten.

The Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions couldn’t gain any separation on each other in a shootout in the first half of Monday Night Football. In the second half, Dez Bryant remained on fire and the Cowboys began to pull away from the Lions in style.

As the Cowboys once again marched into Detroit territory again, the Cowboys used Bryant in a unique way on offense. As Bryant came around on the reverse on a pitch from Dak Prescott, he ended up throwing the pass for a trick play. As fate would have it, Jason Witten was open in the end zone with no one around him.

Perhaps the most interesting part of this touchdown pass is that Bryant is a lefty. When trick plays are few and far between in the league, people forget which arm Bryant is going to be throwing from.

The Lions clearly weren’t ready for a southpaw pass, yet alone a pass at all. The Cowboys had been using creating offensive sets all night against Detroit and they were putting together one of their better offensive performances of the season against a struggling Lions defense.

In a tight game between two teams with playoff implications, it takes something out of the ordinary on occasion. With the touchdown reception, Witten continued to pull himself closer to becoming the Cowboys’ franchise leader in receiving yards.
