Chelsea make the short trip north looking to win their 14th match in a row, a record that would tie Arsenal for the most consecutive Premier League wins. Chelsea have run the table since losing to Arsenal 3-0 over three months ago.
The Blues have kept 10 clean sheets during their 13-game winning streak, a remarkable statistic further demonstrating just how dominant they’ve been. The all-time record won’t be handed to them, though, as Spurs are also enjoying a sweet run of form. Spurs have won four on the bounce, scoring 13 goals in the process.
They are also all but perfect at home. Chelsea, if they are to win their 14th straight, will have to beat Spurs at White Hart Lane, a feat no other team have been able to achieve this season. Spurs have won four consecutive matches at their fortress and six of the last seven. Tottenham, in nine home games, have won seven and drawn two, taking 23 from a possible 27 points.
As if their isn’t enough headlines for the biggest match of the season, this fixture arguably pits the two best Premier League strikers against each other. Harry Kane, coming off a two-goal performance in the Watford win, has scored 10 goals in only 14 appearances.
Even more foreboding for Chelsea supporters, Kane has scored 17 goals in his last 17 Premier League London derbies.
Chelsea and the Premier League’s top goalscorer, Diego Costa, has 14 goals from 18 appearances.
