An Atlanta Hawks fan was excited to get a Kyle Korver jersey in the mail. Just one problem: He doesn’t know Korver is about to be dealt to the Cavaliers.

Talk about picking the wrong day to be excited about getting a Kyle Korver jersey.

That’s what happened to this an Atlanta Hawks superfan name Dereck Stepan, who finally got his coveted Korver jersey in the mail on Jan. 5 and planned on wearing it to the Hawks game against the struggling Dallas Mavericks on Friday.

There’s just one problem: Korver could be out of Atlanta before the Hawks tip-off against the Mavs.

if you haven’t heard as of late, the Cleveland Cavaliers are in serious talks with the Hawks about acquiring Atlanta’s long-time sharpshooter. In fact, according to multiple sources, a deal for Korver may be completed as early as Thursday.

That would make wearing the jersey pretty awkward for Stepan, who had his heart set out to wearing the jersey to the game.

As if on cue, Twitter users who saw the viral tweet went in on the unsuspecting youngster:

Now, are you ready for the plot twist?

The Twitter photo was ripped from a post by a Twitter user named “Cody,” who posted the jersey that Korver signed for him in 2015.

Yep, the Twitter account this tweet came from was a parody account who obviously has a love and admiration for Dwight Howard (as an Orlando Magic fan, you Hawks fans can keep him). So yeah, everyone on Twitter just got “Korver-rolled.”

Cue Rick Astley.
