Super Bowl Week: EA Games kicks off historic sports event with EA Sports Bowl

Super Bowl Week preparations have started early. EA Games has announced the EA Sports Bowl will take place in Houston, TX, on Feb. 2. 

According to the official press release for the event, the inaugural EA Sports Bowl — produced by the game company in conjunction with Nomadic Entertainment — will take place at Club Nomadic in Houston, TX, on Feb. 2.

Guests at the event will be invited to compete in a tournament in both EA SPORTS Madden NFL 17 and FIFA 17. After the tournament, fans will get treated to a live concert featuring Grammy-nominated duo The Chainsmokers and country music superstar Sam Hunt.

The Chainsmokers — who just signed a three-year residency deal with the Wynn Las Vegas resort to appear at both XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club, beginning January 6 at XS — will be performing at the 62,500 square foot nightclub.

EA Access members will be allowed to get a 10 percent discount on tickets for the event.

In a statement released to the press, EA Sports senior marketing director Randy Chase said that this event was sure to be the premier event of Super Bowl Week.

“The EA SPORTS party is always one of the hottest tickets in town during Super Bowl week and this year is one of our best shows ever. This year has an amazing lineup of athletes and musical talent, and Club Nomadic is going to be one of the greatest venues we’ve ever had. The EA SPORTS Bowl will kick-off three-nights of unmatched entertainment from the world’s most popular artists, making Club Nomadic the hottest ticket and venue in town the week of January 30.”

As of yet, no additional announcements for events have been made for Super Bowl week. Tickets for the event go on sale beginning this Saturday, Jan. 7, on Ticketmaster.com. VIP packages are also available.
