Jacksonville Jaguars owner Shad Khan issued a statement on the moves the team made to the coaching staff and front office on Monday.

The Jacksonville Jaguars were busy making moves on Monday. With a roster full of young talent that hasn’t performed up to expectations yet, this is an important offseason for Jacksonville as they continue to get things right. The team announced on Monday, that they hired offensive coordinator Doug Marrone as head coach, extended the contract of general manager Dave Caldwell and have brought back Tom Coughlin as Executive Vice President of Football Operations. Owner Shad Khan released a statement about the moves on Monday night.

Khan’s statement was one of excitement over the moves that Jacksonville ended up making. With the disappointing seasons that the team has racked up recently, bringing Coughlin back into the fold should provide plenty of excitement for the fans.

Marrone is someone Khan obviously trusts as the head coach of the team and he has experience in that regard. The team really responded to the change at coach to Marrone toward the end of the season and that is something that the Jaguars have seemed to put a lot of stock into.

Caldwell’s teams haven’t quite put together wins on the field, but there’s no denying the talent he has assembled on the roster. With yet another high draft pick, the Jaguars once again find themselves with an opportunity to add another young dynamic player or too.

If things can finally starting turning around for the Jaguars or the team simply shows some improvement on the field, that gives Khan reason to be happy with these hires. After the past few years, there’s nowhere to go but up.
