Arizona Wildcats

Last week: 15-2 (4-0 Pac-12)
Last rank: N/A

Arizona has been rolling in conference so far, currently sitting at 4-0 and a seemingly easy week against Arizona State is where you’d want to be right now. Arizona has the top defense in the country, holding opponents to 60 points a game. I’m fascinated with what could happen next week. Games against USC and UCLA will show us just how good this young Arizona team is. An LA sweep also pushes you up the seed line when it comes to bracketology. First things first, however– beat ASU.

Oregon Ducks

Last week: 15-2 (4-0 Pac-12)
Last rank: N/A

Averaging almost 90 points a game and holding opponents to just a shade under 70, it’s a slight edge that’s kept Oregon in front of Arizona in the Pac-12 power rankings. I was hesitant on putting Oregon at the forefront of the conference but they have proved me wrong so far. Especially with the win over UCLA (their best of the season by far). Now the biggest thing for this team is to not lose games that you should roll in.

If Oregon is going to validate their lofty preseason status and become a number one seed again, they can’t lose games against teams of the caliber of their next three opponents. While Oregon State remains in the dregs of the conference, it’s clear they’re better than Stanford and Cal. Winning convincingly will only cement their place atop the Pac-12 mountain.
