Donald Trump continues slamming Saturday Night Live
By David Rouben
Donald Trump can’t stand it when Saturday Night Live makes fun of him, but he also can’t help but hate watch and tweet about it when it happens.
Saturday Night Live returned with a bang as they made their first episode of 2017 all about Donald Trump. The President-elect was embroiled in an unverified report about Russia potentially having damaging information on him, and already had to fight off the press in a passionate press conference. But seeing SNL make fun of it had to be insult to injury.
Alec Baldwin has been SNL’s go-to Trump impersonator this season, as he has his mannerisms down to a tee. He nailed him again during the cold open, with the jokes extending well beyond pee puns, although there were a lot of those as well. There were more Trump jokes after the cold open, but that was the most memorable segment of the show.
Everyone knew he would tweet about it — the question was a matter of when and not if. When he finally came around to watching it, he ripped NBC and SNL a new one:
Many people expected him to tweet that out first thing in the morning, but perhaps he didn’t get around to seeing the segment until later. Or perhaps he knew everyone would be on Twitter during the Dallas Cowboys vs. Green Bay Packers game, and decided he wanted to get some attention.
Things weren’t always this tense between SNL and Trump — hell, he was on an episode just last season. But ever since they replaced him with Alec Baldwin, their relationship has been on the rocks. At least the cast of SNL can take solace in the fact that they’re not alone; the list of people he’s attacked on social media since getting elected keeps growing every day.
Of course, he’s been sour towards all media outlets, but perhaps he should be more careful when talking about NBC. They were kind enough to air his flagship show The Apprentice, and even though he can’t host it anymore, he’s still an executive producer. However, they still lean left, and that’s reason enough for him to attack the network and SNL.

It remains to be seen if Trump will continue to go on tweet storms like this after he gets sworn into the White House. If he’s still watching SNL despite the amount of times they’ve made fun of him this season, though, chances are he will.
