Draymond Green came charging at LeBron James on defense and the Warriors forward wound up clotheslined the Cavaliers star

Draymond Green is no stranger when it comes to untimely and unsightly collisions. The Golden State Warriors polarizing forward has been known to tussle now and again, getting caught up in the heat of the moment. That’s especially been the case, though, when he gets amped up for big games against the likes of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Sure enough, as the two teams met in the feature Martin Luther King Jr. Day slate, Green found himself in a physical incident.

The Warriors jumped out to a big lead at Oracle over the Cavs in the first half, ahead by 17 points in the second quarter. That made it all the more surprising when Green put himself in a compromising position when he came charging at LeBron James as the Cleveland forward brought the ball up the floor.

Rather than just committing a common foul where they collided, the Warriors star forward thought it’d be a good idea to also extend his right arm. In doing so, Draymond effectively clotheslined King James, taking the Cavaliers forward to the ground. Not shockingly, no one left the collision pleased:

To be fair to Green, it’s pretty obvious that LeBron embellishes (RE: flops) upon contact here. With that being said, there’s no need in the slightest for Draymond to extend his arm like that on this play.

Between the way that contact was made and James flopping, the collision/clothesline looks worse than it actually is. However, we can surely all look forward to hearing Green talk about how extending his arm there was a natural body motion—even though that’s only the case if he’s working for Vince McMahon.
