Aaron Rodgers is sick prior to NFC Championship Game

The Packers QB himself admitted he isn’t feeling too great going into Sunday’s big game.

Illness tends to arise at the worst of times, and that seems to be the case for Aaron Rodgers this weekend. As we all know, a spot in the Super Bowl is at stake this Sunday. So murmurs about Rodgers having a bug on Friday may leave Packers faithful uneasy.

The sickness has reportedly also gotten to others including WR Jordy Nelson. Being the cool and poised guy that he is, #12 sees it as no big deal: “Rest, fluids, all that stuff. We’ll be OK. Jordy had it. Mason (Crosby) had it. I got it. We’ll deal with it” (ESPN Milwaukee).

Judging from how well Rodgers has played of late, I’m not so sure anything can stop him right now. Green Bay was in disarray midseason with a mark of 4-6, only to #RunTheTable and win the division. They haven’t lost since Nov. 20 in Washington. Now, they are only a game away from heading to Houston to represent the NFC. It’s amazing how quickly Green Bay flipped the script after Thanksgiving. This is just another example of how the NFL is a quarterback driven league. Luckily for Green Bay, they just so happen to have a pretty good one.

As far as Rodgers’ status for Sunday, Packers fans shouldn’t be worried. Even if their QB isn’t 100 percent, remarkable players do remarkable things. Rodgers has displayed persistent confidence  all season, and Sunday should be no different. NFL history has proved that the hot team is capable of making plenty of noise in the playoffs. Winners of their last eight, Rodgers and company would qualify as such as this point. I have an inkling Green Bay’s gunslinger will be active come Sunday and ready to go.
