Gabon take on Cameroon in African Cup of Nations group stage action. The hosts need to come out with purpose or else Sunday’s game could be their last AFCON match this year.
Through two group stage matches, Gabon only have two points. They’re currently tied with Burkina Faso in second place. A tie against Cameroon will only give them three points and wouldn’t be enough for them to advance if the other game doesn’t end in a tie.
On the flip side, Cameroon have more wiggle room. A win against Gabon would give them seven points and a tie would move them to five points. In both cases, they’d have enough points to move into the knockout round. Yet, Cameroon haven’t fully impressed soccer fans and pundits alike as they haven’t played to their full potential.

Group A is still close from top to bottom. A Gabon win against Cameroon would really throw a wrench into who moves onto the knockout stage.
