ESPN pays tribute to Brent Musburger after final game

ESPN paid tribute to legendary sports broadcaster Brent Musburger after the final game of his career on Wednesday night.

The broadcasting world said goodbye to another legend on Wednesday night. After a lengthy career calling some of the most memorable action in all of sports, Brent Musburger called his final game on ESPN. In an incredible overtime game between the Kentucky Wildcats and Georgia Bulldogs, Musburger called an exciting finish.

Musburger is known for his signature calls and of course his famous phrases. Some of the biggest games in college athletics and professional sports have had Musburger on the call. After the final whistle sounded, the tributes began pouring in from there. As Kentucky and Georgia shook hands, Wildcats head coach John Calipari came over to embrace Musburger. Then Jay Bilas thanked him for everything and it led into an amazing tribute video from ESPN.

Famous sports highlights of games Musburger called began to air with. It offered a reflection of just how many famous moments in sports that he had called during his career and it of course had the phrase “You are looking live!” sprinkled throughout.

Most will remember him by that phrase and some of the odd moments he provided us during his career, but that’s what made him one of the greats. He had a unique style that can’t be matched and will certainly be missed.

There will be many more tributes geared toward him over the coming days as he transitions to life in Las Vegas. The sports world has said goodbye to some legends in the booth recently and Musburger is the next legend to hang it up.
