Is Chicago Fire airing a new episode tonight, Jan. 31? We let you know and tell you what to expect from the NBC series next.

It’s time to cool down, Chicago Fire fans, because the NBC drama is airing a repeat episode tonight, Jan. 31.

Tuesday is an encore of season 5, episode 5 called “I Held Her Hand,” and if you’re a Casey fan you might want to look away because it’s another episode that’s difficult for him as he and Severide have a disagreement over the cause of a house fire that killed a woman. Casey (Jesse Spencer) believes it was arson, but Severide (Taylor Kinney) isn’t so quick to judge.

Here’s how NBC officially describes the episode:

"Lt. Casey is unable to rescue a woman who becomes trapped inside her burning greystone, prompting him and Lt. Severide to butt heads over the husband’s role in the tragedy. Herrmann is on a mission to catch a mystery tagger that keeps targeting their firehouse and Boden gets a surprise visitor. Meanwhile, Dawson and Brett respond to a 16-year-old boy who was injured during a romantic homecoming proposal."

The next new episode of Chicago Fire will air Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 10 p.m. on NBC.

Season 5, episode 12 is called “An Agent of the Machine” and is part two of the story that began in last Tuesday’s “Who Lives and Who Dies,” which also wasn’t very kind to Casey. Maybe this is just not his season?

If you need to get caught up before next week you can read our takeaways from episode 11 and catch the full installment via NBC on Demand, or download the episode on iTunes.
