Arizona State Sun Devils

Last week: 10-12 (3-6 Pac-12)
Last rank: 10

Like Stanford, the Sun Devils have hit the skids over the past few weeks but stopped the bleeding this past week as they beat Washington to stop a four-game losing streak. While they dropped their next game to Washington State, the Sun Devils got back on the winning track even if it was just for one game. This week the Sun Devils travel to the northwest to face Oregon and Oregon State. I’d expect to see a split from the Sun Devils this week. Two losses would be a huge step back for Bobby Hurley and his young squad.

Washington State Cougars

Last week: 11-10 (4-5 Pac-12)
Last rank: 7

Another team in the middle of the conference quagmire is Washington State. The Cougars have won two out of their last three and now welcome two tourney-bound teams in USC and UCLA. Sitting one game below .500 and one game above .500 in conference, this week is huge for the Cougars. While I think we can all agree that Washington State is a very long shot to reach the NCAA Tournament, they’ve got the chance to play spoiler in the conference and drag down both USC and UCLA when it comes to projected seeding for the NCAA Tournament.
