“Don’t tell anyone I play this game, honestly. They will laugh at me.”

Conor McGregor is a character.

Everything about him has become iconic — his accent, the way he throws mad shade, the way he feels no one is good enough for him, his tendency to call opponents filthy names.

There is little to no chance that McGregor plays Overwatch, Blizzard Entertainment’s wildly popular first-person-shooter video game. But someone who does has found it within himself to embody the very essence of McGregor, so much so that it feels like you are playing with the UFC champion himself.

A compilation of this impersonator’s Overwatch exploits is documented in the video below.

As McGregor’s impersonator encounters new people in the game, he gets a wide variety of reactions.

One teammate, skeptical of him at first, ends up telling Overwatch-McGregor to stop talking because he or she is laughing too hard to actually play.

Another engages him in conversation, point blank saying to him that he sounds a lot like Conor McGregor. “Oh do I?” says Overwatch-McGregor airily. “That’s strange.” He reveals to this teammate that he is Irish, which would account for the excellent accent.

Of course, the best part of Overwatch-McGregor are the utterly ridiculous things that he says, not unlike the real McGregor. Some of our favorite lines are as follows:

  • “I’m in a state of zen right now. My mind is calm, composed and I’m ready to put on the performance of my life.”
  • “I’m the greatest at this game. There’s no one else but me.”
  • “Boom, have a seat. One left hook, that’s all it takes.”
  • “You know, I’m finding it even hard to engage with anyone in the game, because they’re not on my level. Not. One. Individual.”
  • “I’m the greatest Overwatch player of all time. You can call me double greatest.”

Whoever you are, Overwatch-McGregor, we salute you and your Irishness.
