Super Bowl 51 between the Atlanta Falcons and the New England Patriots will be on FOX this year. What channel is FOX on DirecTV, Comcast, Time Warner, etc.?

The Super Bowl is one of the most watched television events in the world. Whether it’s the halftime show, the commercials or the game itself, the Super Bowl is can’t-miss television for most people.

Since the Super Bowl is only shown on the most basic of channels to help draw massive numbers, the event alternates between popular stations like CBS, FOX and NBC.

This year, Super Bowl 51 will be on FOX, with Joe Buck and Troy Aikman in the booth. Kickoff from NRG Stadium in Houston will be at 6:30 p.m. ET on Sunday, Feb. 5. What channel is FOX on for some of the biggest television providers?

On satellite television provider DirecTV, FOX is on channel 22. As for cable providers like Comcast and Time Warner, the channel depends on the area of the country you live in. Usually on basic cable, channels like FOX will be on the lower list of channels, somewhere between 1 and 10. Be sure to check your local listings for what channel FOX is on your local cable television provider.

Super Bowl LI will be between the AFC Champion New England Patriots and the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons. This will be an NFL-record ninth appearance for the Patriots, the seventh of the Tom Brady/Bill Belichick era.

This is only the second time in franchise history the Falcons will play for the Lombardi Trophy. The last time they played for it all was back in 1998, when the lost to the Denver Broncos in Miami.

A win for Brady would give him five rings, the most in NFL history by a starting quarterback. Should the Falcons win, it might help legitimize quarterback Matt Ryan’s Hall of Fame candidacy. He’s only nine years into the league, but has done well in his time with the Falcons.
