The Brooklyn Nets are not very good. They lose quite a few more basketball games than they win, and win/loss ratio is a good indication of one’s success. By that metric, they are the least successful team in the NBA.

What’s worse than the Nets’ record is the fact that they’re not in position to get much better any time soon. Boston owns a good chunk of the Nets’ future, and while the Nets do have cap space, they don’t have much else to lure a signature free agent.

It’s times like this where the dozens of Nets fans may want to escape to fantasy to distract them from the pain and waste of their favorite franchise. Unfortunately, fantasy doesn’t offer much relief. Basketball exists in the world of fiction, and many of the teams of unreality would have a good chance at beating the Brooklyn Nets as well.

In honor of imagination, I’ve compiled a list of five teams I think could give the Nets a run for their money. They need to get to the salary floor anyway.
