Julio Jones remains true to Atlanta with his custom-made cleats for today’s Super Bowl.

The emergence of Atlanta as the south’s mecca began in the late 1990s/early 2000s. The music (Outkast, Ludacris) and sports (streetball legend Hot Sauce, Atlanta Braves/Falcons, Michael Vick) helped make Atlanta an attraction outside of shopping malls and other entertainment endeavors.

But outside of those factors, the good folks in Atlanta have a deep sense of pride for their city. The Atlanta Falcons are appearing in their first Super Bowl in 18 years and the city would love to bring a title home.

Who will they depend on?

Newly crowned NFL MVP Matt Ryan and dynamic wide receiver Julio Jones, of course. Jones hails from Foley, Alabama, but looking at his cleats, he holds Atlanta near and dear to his heart.

The cleats entail many references to the city of Atlanta. Peachtree Street is a famous street that runs throughout the city. A football, a Hawk for the Atlanta Hawks and “The Varsity” a restaurant, are featured on Jones cleats.

It’s easy to see why Atlanta holds a special place to Jones. Atlanta fans have always been known to be one of the most loyal, dependable fans in sports. Just ask Matt Ryan, who struggled in the playoffs in his career. Not to mention the past three seasons where fans stood by Jones and Ryan despite the Falcons not being in the playoffs.

Anyways, Jones allegiance to Atlanta via his cleats will be some interesting eye candy for fans to check out during the game. The Falcons have a tough match-up with Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots and need Jones and Ryan’s A game. Hopefully, Jones and his cleats will match the entertainment value of the Super Bowl.
