Superfan of the New England Patriots, Mark Wahlberg, may have left Super Bowl 51 just a bit early.

Mark Wahlberg went all over the media on Sunday with his New England Patriots gear. He’s from the Boston, MA area and has been a noted celebrity Patriots fan, also being friends with Tom Brady and members of the organization as well.

At 9:41 p.m. ET, a video popped up on Twitter of Wahlberg apparently leaving during Super Bowl 51. This was before things started to trend toward the Patriots taking the lead and eventually winning the game. It’s unknown if he returned, but this looks like he may have bolted long before the end of the showdown.

Maybe Wahlberg and his family had something else they needed to attend to, but man, did they miss a show. The Patriots ended up pulling off the greatest comeback in Super Bowl history by coming back from 25 points. To put it in perspective, the largest deficit a team had overcome was 10 points, so the previous record got shattered to pieces.

Then there was the catch by Julian Edelman, which will go down as one of the most memorable in Super Bowl history. It was David Tyree-esque, something that looked impossible but somehow got pulled off. This carried the Patriots into Falcons territory and led to them tying up the game.

To cap it off, there would be the first-ever overtime period in Super Bowl history. This saw the Patriots cruise down the field to score and win Super Bowl 51.

If Mark Wahlberg missed out on the ending, then he was unfortunate not to witness one of the greatest Super Bowls of all-time. The moments made there were ones that will never be forgotten.
