Cleveland Cavaliers superstar guard Kyrie Irving hit the go-ahead three to lift his team to a win over the Washington Wizards on Monday night.

The overtime classic between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Washington Wizards on Monday night, was arguably the best game of the season. Two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference battled in a game that resembled a playoff atmosphere on national television. LeBron James hit a ridiculous shot to send the game to overtime and Kyrie Irving put the finishing touches on it.

With the two teams still knotted up in overtime, Irving hit a huge three to give his team the lead that was reminiscent of his shot in Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He stepped back and got nothing but net.

The Cavaliers would hold on the rest of the way and would defeat the Warriors for the huge win. It’s a huge win for Cleveland as they’ve been up and down recently and needed a win over a team that’s been trying to chase them down in the standings.

It was an impressive showing by Washington. After starting slow to begin the year, they’ve been one of the hottest teams in the league. This was a great showing that they’re ready to contend in the Eastern Conference and they got the best from the defending champions.

When the Cavaliers needed Kyrie Irving to hit another shot and deliver a win, he did it again. This is just another shot in a longstanding trend for the superstar point guard.
