Not only is Jake Gyllenhaal a phenomenal actor, but he can also sing. Is there anything this man can’t do?

In a new and surprising video directed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Beasts of No Nation), we see just how talented Jake Gyllenhaal really is. You may have thought that he was only an actor, but he’s so much more than that.

Gyllenhaal is one of the most talented actors working in Hollywood today. It’s a shame that he hasn’t been recognized for his work at award shows just yet. But this doesn’t take away just how great he really is. In this video, though, he combines both his acting prowess and his singing ability. It’s truly an amazing thing to see.

In the video, Gyllenhaal sings “Finishing the Hat,” which is one of the most well-known songs from the Broadway play, Sunday in the Park With George. In typical Fukunaga fashion, the video is directed in a great manner.

This isn’t the first time Gyllenhaal has been involved in Broadway, though. Back in 2015, he starred in a play known as Constellations. Sunday in the Park With George is very different, however. It’s a musical after all. But, if the video showcases anything, it’s that he’s up for the task.

He first played the role back in an Encores! concert last year. People were able to catch a glimpse of just how well he would perform in this role. With the talent that he has, the audience was definitely in for a treat.

The play will give some viewers a preview on Feb. 11 before opening officially on Feb. 23. If this clip is only a fraction of what to expect from the full production, then we’re in for a great time all-around.
