Syracuse Orange guard Tyus Battle hit a three at the buzzer to defeat the Clemson Tigers on Tuesday night.

Conference tournaments are just around the corner in college basketball and this last month of the season is a critical time for teams looking to make March Madness. Both the Syracuse Orange and Clemson Tigers are looking to lock up their spots and both wanted to get a key victory over the other on Tuesday night. With the two engaged in a back-and-forth battle, Syracuse guard Tyus Battle brought it home.

As the Orange drove the length of the floor on the last play of the game down two, Battle managed to get open in the corner. Once the ball found his hands, he released a corner three and it hit nothing but net. He was swarmed by his teammates as they picked up the crucial victory on the road.

With a loaded conference like the ACC, every win counts for these teams and neither Syracuse or Clemson wanted to drop this game. Battle has been building up a reputation of clutch moments and this was a reminder of what happens if he is left wide open.

The Orange pick up their 16th victory of the season while dropping the Tigers to 10 losses on the year. At 16 wins, Syracuse has themselves in range for not only a tournament spot but a decent seed depending upon what they do the rest of the way.

This was a huge game for both of these teams that was going to put the winner on the path to March. The year is not over for Clemson, but they have to start picking up some victories as the season winds down. They thought they had the Orange for a big home victory but Battle had other plans and lifted his team when they needed him.
