Russell Westbrook leads the league in many categories. Points, triple-doubles and, commercials are the three most important categories in which Russ is putting up unheard of numbers. In his latest Jordan commercial, Westbrook lets it be known that he also leads the league in other categories such as “minutes talking to myself intensely,” “created parental neglect,” and “keeping Vine alive.” Russ is lucky that Kevin Garnett retired because KG led the league in at least two of those categories for many years.

He ends his numbers games by claiming to be “the all-time greatest Russell,” but then some old guy wearing a couple of rings scares Westbrook with his newspaper, which leads to him changing his answer.

As good as this commercial is, it’s third on Westbrook’s commercial list this season. The “Now I Do What I Want” dance video will never be topped because it’s the perfect summation of the eccentric point guard. It’s also a way of life. “Unofficial Stats” almost bests “Make Runways,” but petty shots at teammates who leave is better than a cameo by a NBA legend. The overall content of “Unofficial Stats” is better, but lacked pettiness. Maybe one of the stats should have been something about Westbrook leading the league in unselfish plays.

Upon hearing these unofficial categories, it got me thinking about other categories that Westbrook leads the league in.

5.3 LOLWTF Moments Per Game, which is three times more than second place JaVale McGee. Westbrook is a bit of a stat padder in this category as he pre-game outfit always produces one LOLWTF Moment, thus inflating his average.

Averages a single-syllable per interview. If he keeps up this pace, he’ll be the first player in league history to average a single-syllable during pre and post-game interviews for an entire season.

Trends on Twitter every night. Even if he doesn’t play, Westbrook is trending because other teams play basketball and tweeters can’t help but mention Westbrook to something that happened on the night. James Harden got a triple-double? He’s still double digits behind Westbrook. The Warriors lost? *Westbrook laughing GIF* Some guy dunked the ball really hard? He ain’t dunk it as hard as Westbrook. An under the radar player had a good game? Can OKC trade for him to help Westbrook?

Next: Checking in on the NBA's statistical outliers

12.7 times per game where you’re like, “that’s just Russ” and you can’t really explain what you just witnessed to a normal person. This number might be low because the person in charge of tracking this stat spends part of his time trying to explain Russ’ actions to the person in charge of tracking the stat, who determines whether this is a logical explanation or “that’s just Russ.” Thus, they end up missing a lot of “that’s just Russ” plays.
