Here’s what happened in the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Alexa Bliss and Naomi at Elimination Chamber.

Heading into Elimination Chamber on Sunday night, Naomi had all of the momentum prior to her first shot at the SmackDown Women’s Championship against Alexa Bliss.

Not only had the lady with all of the glow pinned the champion twice, she gave her a nice roundhouse kick to the head during this past Tuesday’s contract signing on SmackDown Live.

On Sunday night, the two finally got it on with the gold on the line.

It didn’t take long to get the match going after the announcements were made, as the challenger looked for a quick, shocking victory with a schoolgirl roll-up right out of the gate for a two count.

The champ quickly bounced back to take control early on with a viscous whip into the turnbuckle bolt.

Naomi quickly bounced back, but not before Bliss got in a shot as well to bring us back to a standstill in the bout with a wicked punch/kick combination that landed at the same time.

Similarly to Randy Orton hitting an RKO out of nowhere earlier in the night against Luke Harper in a fantastic match, Naomi drilled the champion with a Rear View out of nowhere, but it only got the challenger a two-count.

Bliss was able to bounce back and counter Naomi into a nice DDT, but it only got a two-count, and she wasn’t happy about it.

She followed that up by rolling out of the way of a split-legged moonsault from Naomi but got busted with her feet on the bottom rope.

One thing led to another, Bliss got caught, Naomi finally was able to hit the split-legged moonsault on the champion and walked out of Elimination Chamber as SmackDown Women’s Champion.

Unexpected? Maybe a little bit.

Still, Naomi will enter WrestleMania 33 (in her hometown of Orlando) as SmackDown Women’s Champion.
