Here’s what happened in the one-on-one match between Becky Lynch and Mickie James at Elimination Chamber.

Last month, Mickie James made her long-awaited debut on SmackDown Live, costing Becky Lynch the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship.

On Sunday night at Elimination Chamber, Lynch looked for some payback against James in the opening bout of the evening.

Did the fiery Lass Kicker from Ireland take down one of the best competitors in the history of the women’s division or did the returning James show the youngster why she held the former Women’s Championship a few times in the past?

In the early going of the matchup, Lynch dominated the action, hitting James form all angles inside (and outside) of the squared circle.

Despite the hot start (pun intended), James would recover and took control of the action, slowing the pace down and keeping Lynch from gaining any momentum.

James kept Lynch grounded with a serious of holds that was followed up with a toss into the steel ring post at one point. But, Ireland’s favorite girl kept the fire and intensity she’s known for and battled back.

Lynch bounced back in a big way later in the match with a big front dropkick from the top rope but was only able to get a two-count out of it.

James quickly answered with a counter out of a pumphandle slam and drilled Lynch with the Mick Kick. As she went for the cover however, Lynch’s arm was hanging under the bottom rope, so no pinfall could be counted.

James was only about to get a two-count and the match continued. As James went for that patented tornado DDT of the past, Lynch counted into a jackknife roll and got the victory over James in the opener of the night.

This feud is far from over, but fans were treated to a fun opening match of the night at Elimination Chamber.
