At UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas, UFC strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk will defend her title for the fifth time against Jessica Andrade.

UFC 211 is shaping up to be a great fight card. In the main event, Stipe Miocic will defend his title in a rematch against Junior dos Santos. However, that won’t be the only title matchup.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk will face Jessica Andrade in a strawweight championship bout. Sport.pl first reported the news.

Dana White confirmed that Andrade would be next in line after her dominant win over Angela Hill. This is also Andrade’s third straight victory after dropping down to the UFC’s strawweight division.

She holds wins over Jessica Penne, Joanne Calderwood, and now Hill.

She was always a tough fighter in the women’s bantamweight division, but she was at a severe disadvantage because of her size. Dropping down a weight class has done wonders for her and now, she’ll be fighting for a title.

But, she’ll be facing her toughest opponent to date in Joanna. Joanna has been on an absolute tear since making her UFC debut. She’s currently undefeated in her MMA career, but her most impressive victories have been inside of the octagon.

She burst on to the scene with a dominant win over Julianna Lima and went to war with Claudia Gadelha after. Then, she faced Carla Esparza and stopped her in the second round to win the title.

She has gone on to defend her title four times against fighters like Valerie Letourneau and most recently, Karolina Kowalkiewicz.

Andrade can pose quite a few problems for Joanna. She’s a heavy hitter, but she can also use her grappling to take this fight to the ground. Joanna will have to use her signature striking to keep Andrade at bay and defend those takedowns.
