For the first time since she split from her husband, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie speaks to the media in an exclusive interview.

Almost immediately after speaking to the media, Angelina Jolie was the top Twitter trending topic of the day, as fans were gushing with comments about her ill-fated marriage and sending their support to the actress.

Jolie spoke to the BBC exclusively while she was promoting her new film, First They Killed My Father. This film will be her first since By The Sea, which she starred in with her now-ex-husband.

And though the rumors about the couple’s demise persist to this day, Angelina Jolie — who has three biological children and three adopted children with the World War Z star — said she and Brad Pitt will “always be family.”

"“I don’t want to say very much about that except it was a very difficult time. We are a family and we will always be a family and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it.”"

Jolie went on to say that her first priority is helping her children through this difficult divorce, and she’s noticed that all six of them are much closer to her than they were prior to her split. She laughed as she recounted the fact that all her children — and all their pets — were piled into her room, and onto her bed, as she was speaking to the BBC about her film, which opened worldwide in Cambodia this weekend.

Jolie also pointed out that her oldest son, Maddox — who is now 18, and was originally adopted from Cambodia — was very involved in the production of her new film.
