Deshaun Watson wants Cowboys to trade Dak Prescott
By Jason Parker
Deshaun Watson really wants to play for the Dallas Cowboys – and has a borderline insane idea of how to make that possible this year.
For some crazy reason that most of the country outside of Texas can’t understand, a growing number of prospects in this year’s NFL Draft really want to play for the Dallas Cowboys. First, it was former Texas A&M stud Myles Garrett – who you could at least understand since he’s from the state.
Now, it’s one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s selection process who wants to play in Jerry World with the Cowboys. Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson, fresh off winning a championship – something the Cowboys haven’t done in decades – told the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that he made a deal with Dallas head coach when he won the Davey O’Brien Trophy in 2015 – an award he won again in 2016 (h/t NBC Sports’ College Football Talk):
"“I like being in Fort Worth, Texas, and I promise you I’ll be back here,” Watson said. “And I told coach Garrett, ‘If I’m back here, you have to draft me.’ I know a lot of Cowboys fans, Tony Romo is healthy, Dak, I’m a huge fan, love that man, he’s been successful, but hey, I did my part, you have to do your part.”"
Oh, boy.
Now, Watson is a great player who on paper should have a long career in the National Football League. Someone needs to break it to him that his career is not going to start as a member of the Cowboys. Yes, Tony Romo is out the door…but Dak is there for the long haul.
Watson seemed to be understand it’s all just a dream, later saying that both should be traded to one of the worst teams in all of sports:
"“The Browns do need a quarterback. You can trade both of them. They need two.”"

Yet again, the Browns continue to be the butt of everyone’s jokes. Come on, people! They have feelings, too…it’s not their fault that quarterbacks are allergic to the city, is it?
