The Replay: Flat earth Boogie

The NBA All-Star Game is always full of excitement, and this year was no exception. El and Al are here to unpack it all, from Dave Chappelle’s epic party to the alley-oop heard round the world.

We start with a brief discussion of the skills competition before diving into the Russell Westbrook and Kevin Durant exchange that resulted in a collective freakout from basketball Twitter. While others were focused on Durant and Westbrook, we had a different reaction. The main takeaway here was clear, Steve Kerr is absolutely the right person to negotiate peace in the Middle East. We’ve said it once, and we will say it again, Kerr 2020!

We then move into the key non-basketball elements of the weekend. We don’t know about you, but we were pretty big fans of The Roots and John Legend rocking the Smoothie King Center. However, the weekend’s real entertainment was in a barn on the bayou. Dave Chappelle threw the party of the century, complete with Joel Embiid dancing and a Chance the Rapper performance. With all that star power, one guest stood out despite the fact he couldn’t even see over the bar. Yes, we are talking about Al’s favorite celebrity, Black-ish star Miles Brown. For more of the NBA’s biggest fan’s All-Star adventures, check out Brown’s Instagram! He is a must follow for any NBA fan.

With all this All-Star talk, we had to discuss the shape of Earth. Kyrie Irving and Draymond Green say flat. Bill Nye and basically every other human say round. Somehow, El has decided to side with flat Earth truthers and Al is not supportive.

Lastly, we wrap up with the DeMarcus Cousins trade. Cousins is heading to New Orleans, and we are concerned. We decided to deal with our fears by playing a game of trade-themed “Would you rather?”

As always, we hope you enjoyed the show. If you did, spread the love! Download it, rate if five stars, tweet about it, send it to the college roommate you haven’t spoken with in awhile. Every little bit helps!
