The 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series season kicks off on Saturday at Daytona International Speedway. Find out how to watch the PowerShares QQQ 300 below.

Daytona International Speedway will be hopping on Saturday. The start of the 2017 NASCAR XFINITY Series officially kicks off with the PowerShares QQQ 300. Qualifying and the race both take place on the same day, which is typical for the XFINITY Series.

As is common in many XFINITY Series races throughout the season, Saturday’s race features multiple Monster Energy Series drivers. This raises the level of competition even higher, which is good for the sport.

Likewise, the PowerSharess QQQ 300 is one of the longest XFINITY Series races of the season. Drivers will be tested even more, especially when it comes to endurance and staying mentally focused the entire contest. One minor mental mistake could lead to a major crash on the track. No one wants that, especially if a car is knocked out of the race.

Friday’s practice sessions allowed drivers to remove the cobwebs off and get a real sense for the Daytona International Speedway track. Speeds were faster in the first practice session than the second. However, the only speeds and times that matter are during Saturday’s qualifying session and during the race itself. Practice sessions allow drivers to work on things outside of being the fastest on the track.

Saturday’s race takes place at 3:30 p.m. ET on Fox Sports 1 and can be streamed via Fox Sports Go, which requires cable authentication.

Date: Saturday, Feb. 25, 2016

After a long offseason, the drivers and fans are ready for the season to begin. New for this year, stage lengths are being used in NASCAR’s top three series. It will be interesting how stage lengths change the racing strategy during each contest. Saturday’s race should shed some light on how XFINITY teams have modified their race day plans.
