Will Paige be fired by WWE?

Following the leak of private photos and videos as the result of a hack, will Page be fired from WWE?

Paige hasn’t been seen on WWE television for quite some time, largely due to a neck injury that she’s been recovering from. Before that, she was suspended for 30 days and then 60 days consecutively for a violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. However, the former Diva’s Champion and NXT Women’s Champion was unfairly in the news on Friday night.

As the result of a likely hack, stolen photos and videos of Paige were leaked online. The subject matter of the stolen property doesn’t need to be discussed beyond saying that they were quite explicit. She released a statement on the matter after leak.

Because of the nature of the leaked material, there have been many questioning whether or not Paige will be fired by WWE. Vince McMahon and the company are all about image and branding, which the photos and videos certainly don’t reflect.

However, Paige should not and almost assuredly won’t be fired from WWE following the leak. Quite simply, she is the victim in this situation. This was private material that was always meant to stay private. Someone illegally stole it from her and then posted it online. Paige shouldn’t be blamed for this in any manner. Again, she is merely the victim in this unfortunate situation.

What’s more, there is somewhat of a precedent with this situation in WWE. Seth Rollins was also a victim of a photo leak that was also explicit. He’s clearly still employed by the company and, frankly, his position was never affected in the company.

The only real question that should be asked about the current situation is when Paige will be back on WWE programming. Again, that has nothing to do with this particular incident and everything to do with her neck injury. Regardless, it’s all that should be asked here. She won’t be fired, nor should she be, for Friday’s hacking and subsequent leak.
