A new Family Guy mobile game was announced today, and in the words of the Seth MacFarlane-created patriarch Peter Griffin, it’s freakin’ sweet.

Jam City co-founder and CEO Josh Yguado said the studio chose to make a second Family Guy game,  appropriately titled Family Guy: Another Freakin’ Mobile Game, because the hit Fox show was an “iconoclastic and authentic voice” in an increasingly stale pop culture landscape.

“We are working with the writers and animators from the show, making this a 100 percent authentic Family Guy product,” he said.

And it’s clear this game is in the true Family Guy vein: Peter has been kicked out of The Clam — the iconic bar in the show where he often hangs out with Cleveland, Quagmire, and Joe — and it is your job, as the player, to help him on his cross-country journey on his booze truck.

“It’s not something you’ve ever seen before in terms of a storyline, but there are some running gags. In terms of them eventually intersecting with the story line, we don’t have anything else to announce … yet,” teased Yguado.

As one of the leading providers of mobile content, Jam City — which was created in 2010 by MySpace co-founders Chris DeWolfe and Aber Whitcomb — is the creator of such games as Cookie Jam, Panda Pop, and Genies & Gems. Yguado himself is a former 20th Century Fox executive, and he told us that the company plans to work with other movie franchises in the future to develop apps. For example, it will be releasing a Peanuts-themed app later this year, making it the fourth game they’ve created in conjunction with Fox Interactive.

Their previous Family Guy game was called Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.

Eventually, said Yguado, Jam City would like to take their apps into the virtual reality space. You can look for Family Guy: Another Freakin’ Mobile Game early this summer, and Android users can pre-register for release notification now.
