Peruvian police made a huge drug bust that saw $85 million worth of cocaine disguised under Lionel Messi squid filet labels.

Trying to smuggle drugs in and out of countries likely isn’t the easiest of trades. The art of the deal is key in these situations and it often ends with corruption, death and well just about anything that isn’t too pleasant should someone end up messing up. It usually doesn’t end however with a start athlete having their image used as a disguise. Unfortunately for Lionel Messi, some drug pushers decided to paste his photo over a whole bunch of bam bam.

As Complex pointed out, Peruvian police came across $85 million worth of cocaine. Yes, that’s likely going to leave someone in a canal later on, if they aren’t currently taking up residence there already. The real story here is that the people trying to smuggle this vast amount of cocaine decided to use Messi squid filet packages.

Now, the extent to which cartels likely smuggle drugs probably involves the strangest of disguises. However, this might be the most hilarious attempt on how to smuggle $85 million worth of cocaine.

Just a hunch here, but Peruvian police probably knew something was up when there was a vast amount of squid filet packages that bared the image of one of the greatest to ever to take the field.
