Twitter couldn’t believe it when Florida hit this absurd shot against Wisconsin

Florida had arguably the most insane shot of the tournament when they hit a game-winning buzzer beater to defeat Wisconsin. They waited until the last possible second, giving every single Gators fan an ulcer in the process, and sent Wisconsin home with a bitter taste in their mouths. Basically it was the worst thing ever for anybody that had rooting interest, but the best thing ever for the rest of us.

The Twitter reaction to the shot was that kind of mixed bag as well. Bring on Florida defeats Wisconsin!

Wait. No. Not THAT Florida. The UNIVERSITY of Florida. This glorious state is more than just absurd headlines that also seem to have a love for pancakes.

Okay and sometimes the joke is just too obvious.

Some people wanted more trash talk.

While others were stuck in precarious situations watching the game.

Then there was the reminder that this tournament matchup could also be a classic football matchup.

Of course, as with any buzzer beater. The best tweets came at the moment the shot went in.

With Florida heading off to the Elite 8 they’ll be moving on to play SEC rival South Carolina in a crucial matchup. The two sides have a much more interesting history on the football side of the field than they do on the basketball with Florida legend, Steve Spurrier, coaching for both football programs. On the basketball side, Florida is looking to return to the Final Four once again. South Carolina on the other hand will be continuing a deep run that they’ve never made before. They won their first ever Sweet 16 game and look to attend their first Final Four.

Perhaps the most important news of all though. Verne’s calling the game!
