An updated 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket now that UConn and the rest of the No. 1 seeds have advanced and the Elite Eight is set

For the most part, there was only one narrative to follow upon the 2017 NCAA Women’t Tournament bracket being released. After having pushed their winning streak well past 100 games, the question was would anyone be able to stop Geno Auriemma and the UConn Huskies. It certainly didn’t look like it then, and things haven’t much changed.

On Saturday night, UConn topped the UCLA Bruins in quite emphatic fashion to move onto the Elite Eight. Joining the Huskies in the next round will be the other three No.1 seeds in the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket. Those teams would be the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, South Carolina Gamecocks and Baylor Bears.

Unfortunately, perhaps the two biggest stories to follow outside of UConn were ended in the Sweet 16. Kelsey Plum and the Washington Huskies weren’t able to get to the next level, falling to the Mississippi State Bulldogs this weekend. What’s more, the cinderella of the tournament in Quinnipiac was also unable to advanced, getting thrashed by South Carolina. And with that, the Elite Eight for the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket is set.

With the four No. 1 seeds still alive and no lower than a No. 3 seed having advanced, it should be a wild finish to March Madness in the 2017 NCAA Women’s Tournament bracket.

Even still, it’s UConn vs everybody else in this tournament. They’re still adding onto their ridiculous winning streak. More importantly, they still look quite untouchable. If any of the seven remaining teams is able to knock them off, it’ll be one of the biggest upsets in recent college basketball memory.
