Friday night, Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson paid a visit to a bar in Alabama; the local Crimson Tide fanbase wasn’t happy.

It’s Friday night, Deshaun Watson is just looking for a bar to grab a bite and relax a bit. An innocent pursuit right? Well, the Crimson Tide fan presence at the bar didn’t take kindly to the visit from the man who smashed their team in the championship game.

Apparently headed up by former Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson, a crowd of fans began to harass Watson at the Innisfree Irish Pub in Tuscaloosa. The club is said to be a popular one, hence the linebacker Anderson being in the locale surrounded by fans of his team.

Innisfree wrote a post on Facebook regarding the incident. The post stated that many members of school rivals had come and gone and had been given fair treatment at every turn. The club also said that none of its employees were taking part in the event and that it was purely on the customers present that night. The post also mentions that one customer attempted to refuse service on behalf of the club. Said customer was promptly identified and given the boot.

It sounds like Anderson, the suspected ringleader, was spotted starting the ordeal, he was removed from the club. Good on Innisfree for that one. Shame on Anderson and the Crimson Tide fans who ran Watson out of the club. However, the sentiment is understandable. Watson led his Clemson Tigers to a 35-31 rout of the Alabama Crimson Tide in the national championship game. Watson himself posted 420 passing yards and three touchdowns that game through the air.

Alabama and its fan base has every right to be salty over the defeat. However, some of the local fans got a little too carried away and drove Watson out. They may never get to defeat Watson again, but Alabama may get a chance at revenge next college football season. That game will be intense! Best of luck to both teams.
