Round 2 of the 2017 Masters Tournament has come to a close. Here are all the highlights from the second day of action at Augusta National on Friday.

We’re halfway home at Augusta National. Round 2 of the 2017 Masters Tournament has created a bit of separation heading into the second half of the tournament. The cuts came to those that couldn’t make +6 through two days. We’ve also got a four-way tie heading into Saturday.

Charley Hoffman shot three over on Friday after his blistering -7 in Round 1. Fortunately for him, he is still in first place at -4 through Round 2. Joining him atop the leaderboard in Augusta are Sergio Garcia, Thomas Pieters and Rickie Fowler.

None of those four golfers have won The Masters in their career. Interestingly, the only former Masters winner currently below par is the ageless Fred Couples, simply because he is amazing in the early part of the week. It’s cool though, as Phil Mickelson, Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy will still have their opportunities to make a run or two this weekend

Mickelson and Spieth finished Round 2 at even par. Spieth had to overcome a slight deficit entering the day, but managed to do so. Mickelson was under par for most of Friday, but a late bogey has him at even part. McIlroy is only one over, so he’s in good shape, too.

Hoffman, Garcia, Pieters and Fowler are all in great position to win their first Green Jacket. While we should expect one of them to fade on Saturday, maybe one of these four leaders will end up being etched in Masters glory with a big win on Sunday?
