Sergio Garcia is finally a major champion. Here he is putting on the Green Jacket after his thrilling playoff victory at the 2017 Masters.

He finally did it! Spanish golfing sensation Sergio Garcia won his first major tournament in his long PGA Tour career. After tying England’s Justin Rose at -9 through 72 holes, Garcia won The 2017 Masters Tournament by two strokes in the sudden-death playoff.

It was an emotional ride for the emotional player. He nearly blew his chance to win it in regulation after missing a birdie on 18 in Round 4. Well, he got to replay that hole and bested Rose to win his first Green Jacket.

A few minutes, Garcia would appear at the Butler Cabin to be adorned by his well-deserved Green Jacket by 2016 Masters Champion Danny Willett. Here is the video of Garcia finally getting the greatest honor professional golf has to offer.

Garcia became the third man from Spain to win The Masters Tournament, joining the late Seve Ballesteros (1980, 1983) and Jose Maria Olazabal (1994, 1996). Coincidentally, Sunday would have been Ballesteros’ 60th birthday. It was only fitting that a Spaniard would win in Augusta on this symbolic day.

No longer will Garcia be jabbed as a great golfer who chokes in the back-nine on Sundays. He is a Masters Champion until the end of time. It was a great tournament by Garcia through and through. Nobody played Augusta better all four rounds than did Garcia. He was easily the most consistent golfer throughout the tournament.

This was Garcia’s 75th chance at winning a major tournament in his professional golfing career. The 37-year-old may have his opportunities to pick up another major or two along the way. Frankly, that doesn’t really matter at this point. He will forever be a Masters Champion after his thrilling fourth round at Augusta National on Sunday.
