Only two teams in the NFL won fewer games than the Chicago Bears this past season. So what does the 2017 schedule look like?

Was it really that long ago when we saw the Chicago Bears hosting the Green Bay Packers in the NFC title game? Actually, it’s been quite some time. The season was 2010 and the result was a 21-14 loss for then-head coach Lovie Smith. Since then, there has been Smith and fellow sideline leaders Marc Trestman and now John Fox. But we have also seen this franchise miss the playoffs six straight years.

The Bears come off a dreadful 3-13 campaign, tying a franchise record for losses in a season. They have now finished in the NFC North basement each of the last three years. Their combined record over that span is a disturbing 14-34. But it’s worth noting that two of their trio of wins came over their division rivals from Detroit and Minnesota. So can this club increase its victory total in 2017?

Here is how the complete schedule, week-by-week, lays out:

Week 1: vs. Atlanta
Week 2: at Tampa Bay
Week 3: vs. Pittsburgh
Week 4: at Green Bay
Week 5: vs. Minnesota
Week 6: at Baltimore
Week 7: vs. Carolina
Week 8: at New Orleans
Week 9: BYE
Week 10: vs. Green Bay
Week 11: vs. Detroit
Week 12: at Philadelphia
Week 13: vs. San Francisco
Week 14: at Cincinnati
Week 15: at Detroit
Week 16: vs. Cleveland
Week 17: at Minnesota

Once again, the Chicago Bears and general manager Ryan Pace were busy this offseason. The Jay Cutler Era is over in the Windy City. The team’s new starting quarterback is Mike Glennon, late of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is off to Philadelphia, but the team has two new wideouts in Kendall Wright and Markus Wheaton.

Will the Bears bet a better football team this season? It won’t be for a lack of trying. Keep an eye on the schedule in terms of their contests within the division. It’s where the club has struggled the most in recent years.
