Throughout NBA history, there have been some very bad teams that have managed to sneak into the playoffs. These are the 30 worst NBA playoff teams of all time.

Typically making the playoffs in sports is an accomplishment. The chance to compete for a championship and all the glory that comes with it is every team’s dream. However, when it comes to being a playoff team in the NBA, it’s not always a blessing to make it.

History hasn’t been kind to playoff teams at the bottom of their conference. Far too often, the lack of parity in the league has allowed for No. 8 seeds and occasionally, No. 7 seeds to make it in with losing records and the right to get absolutely obliterated by the top seed in the first round.

That’s just been life in the playoffs for several generations. This isn’t just something that’s taken place over the last decade. Whether it’s not enough good teams in a conference today or teams getting in because there weren’t enough decades ago, bad teams have always found a way into the playoffs.

Whatever their incomprehensible journey to the postseason ended up being, each of these teams soon saw their seasons put on ice. In the NBA, it takes a miracle for the top seed to go down in the first round and the No. 8 seed that does it is typically one of the better ones and a great team.

For those teams that are unfortunate enough to be in a playoff spot and not picking high in the draft, it can end up being more of a disaster. Several teams have felt the cold hard sting of being bad and then having to play more games to get put on display. Here are the 30 worst NBA playoff teams of all time.
