Liverpool enter the weekend third in the Premier League table, but Manchester City sit just two points behind them. On Sunday, 15th-place Crystal Palace travel to Anfield to face Liverpool. Palace sit only seven points above the relegation zone.
Jurgen Klopp’s side faced West Brom in their last game. Liverpool captured all three points with a headed goal from Roberto Firmino on a set piece. The Brazilian has scored in back-to-back games for Liverpool as they look to lock down third place. Klopp’s side have played well since the beginning of March, picking up 17 of a possible 21 points.
Palace faced Leicester in their previous game. The Foxes jumped out to an earlier lead after Robert Huth headed home a corner in the sixth minute. Jamie Vardy scored Leicester’s second in the 52nd minute. However, Palace responded two minutes later when a deflected shot landed right in front of Yohan Cabaye in the middle of the box. Cabaye scored his second goal in as many games. In the 70th minute, Christian Benteke was able to steal a point for Palace with his third goal in four games.
