The New Orleans Saints added another running back to their stable on Tuesday, signing Adrian Peterson for the 2017 and 2018 NFL seasons.

It was made official on Tuesday, as star running back Adrian Peterson signed on with the New Orleans Saints for the next two NFL seasons. The deal is worth $7 million, and Peterson will serve as a complement to current Saints running back Mark Ingram. The two-headed monster could be just what Drew Brees and company need, as they lost No. 1 wide receiver Brandin Cooks in a trade with the New England Patriots this offseason.

Martavis Bryant missed the entire 2016 season due to suspension, but he was conditionally reinstated by the league on Tuesday. Bryant, who showed flashes of brilliance with the Steelers during his short career, was suspended for multiple violations of the league’s substance abuse policy. He will be allowed to participate in all preseason activities, and the plan is to have him lining up on the opposite side of Antonio Brown by the time the Steelers kick off the 2017 season.

A.J. McCarron is without a doubt one of the best backup quarterbacks in the NFL, and it looks like it is going to stay that way. The Cincinnati Bengals wanted at least a first round pick for McCarron, who played very well down the stretch for the team when starter Andy Dalton was injured back in 2015. There are at least ten teams who could use a player like McCarron, but it looks like his wish to be a starting quarterback in this league will have to wait at least another season.

While Peterson found a new home on Tuesday, one former star running back is still looking for work. Former Kansas City Chiefs back Jamaal Charles has missed most of the last two seasons due to injury, but people around him feel he will be back and better than ever if a team takes a flier on him. Charles’ agent posted a video of him working out on Tuesday, and by the looks of it, he is going to certainly be able to help some team out if he can get the opportunity.

In what is beginning to be a sick trend, another potential first round pick found himself in the news for the wrong reason in the days leading up to the draft. Ohio State defensive back Gareon Conley has been accused of rape by a woman in Cleveland, though he has not been arrested or charged. Conley was one of the backbones of the Buckeyes defense last season, and many scouts have him projected as one of the top-5 cornerbacks in the 2017 NFL Draft class.
