After being the first team to win 30 of 38 matches in a season, Chelsea FC lifted the EPL trophy with excitement.

Chelsea defeated Sunderland Sunday 5-1 for their 30th win of the season, according to ESPN. Goals from Eden Hazard, Pedro, and Michy Batshuayi delivered the victory.

Chelsea broke their own record with the win. In both 2004-05 and 2005-06, the Blues won 29 of 38 matches. They also won 93 points, which is second only to the 2004-05 squad. In total, Chelsea has won six Premier League/Division titles dating back to 1954-55.

This win was memorable in another respect, as well. It was the 717th and likely the last appearance for John Terry in a Chelsea uniform. He was brought to tears by the tribute given as he was substituted in the 26th minute. The entire crowd gave a standing ovation and almost every player on the pitch paid their respects with a hug.

The defender was a member of the aforementioned historic teams of the early 2000s. He was the captain of Chelsea FC from 2004 to the present. Sunday he handed over the captain armband to Gary Cahill.

In the video, one can see John Terry at the forefront as the first player to lift the trophy with Cahill.

Manager Antonio Conte summed up the feelings of Blues fans after the match as he spoke to the fans:

"“It is an amazing for us to celebrate this win; it’s great for me, for the players to achieve this win; it’s fantastic to celebrate this win with you. Come on Chelsea!"

Conte did an amazing job in his first season with the club after previously being the manager for the Italian national team.

Chelsea hopes to put the icing on the cake with an FA Cup Title victory as they face Arsenal on Saturday at Wembley Stadium. It would be their seventh FA Cup.
