Unified heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua wants Floyd Mayweather to add him to the card for his potential super fight vs. UFC champ Conor McGregor

Over the weekend more details about the potential super-fight between boxing’s former pound-for-pound king Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC’s multiple division champion “Notorious” Conor McGregor emerged. The once hypothetical bout pinning two of the best fighters from different combat sports moved one step closer to becoming reality. UFC officials have come to terms with the Irish sensation and the promotion is now in negotiations with Team Mayweather.

If the two sides come to terms for the cross-over main event, it has the potential to be one of the most lucrative pay-per-view fights in history. Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao recorded 4.6 million buys. Stacking the entire fight card with superstars from both sports would put the event in a position to break records and there’s been plenty of rumors and speculations of who will take part.

Anthony Joshua recently met “Money” Mayweather and said his presence on the card could make the event even bigger. After defeating Wladimir Klitschko in front of 90,000 fans at London’s Wembley Stadium,  Britain’s Olympic gold medalist and unified world heavyweight champion would be a solid co-main event.

There are plenty of options for Joshua no matter where, when or who he fights next. UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic has reportedly shown interest in a heavyweight clash with Joshua. This fight on the undercard of Mayweather vs. McGregor makes sense. Other UFC fighters calling out boxing’s unified champ include former UFC heavyweight champ Junior Dos Santos and UK’s Jimi Manua.

With a rematch clause in place, former undisputed heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko might get a shot to redeem himself but Joshua isn’t too excited about running it back.

“I’m not Wladimir, and I do not know what he wants, but if he listened to me, I would say: ‘Friend, it was an amazing performance, you were very good, but you did not win. So leave on a positive note and let the other guys take your place,'” Joshua told the Hindustan Times.

Anthony also has a chance to make history himself, already becoming the first undefeated heavyweight champ to unify three major titles since “Iron” Mike Tyson, Joshua has been called out by WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder in a possible match-up that will crown whoever is victorious the undisputed world heavyweight champion.
