Atlanta Falcons defensive end Takkarist McKinley may have had his gorilla tattoo of before the Death of Harambe, but he still paid his respect a year later.

Sunday, May 28, 2017, marks the one year anniversary of the Death of Harambe. His death by shooting in the Cincinnati Zoo became easily the biggest thing on the internet in 2016. All people have paid their respects to Harambe a year after his passing, including Atlanta Falcons rookie defensive end Takkarist McKinley.

Yes, this is the same Takk McKinley that brought up a framed picture of his late grandmother to the Philadelphia stage to meet NFL commissioner Roger Goodell when he was selected No. 26 overall by Atlanta.

There is a good chance that McKinley could be the pass rusher Atlanta needs opposite of Vic Beasley to get back to the Super Bowl. He is full of energy and definitely wears the spirit of Harambe on his sleeve. No, seriously. He has a giant tattoo of a yelling gorilla on his left bicep.

While McKinley acknowledges that he got the primate portrait done well before the Death of Harambe, he took his precious time to make Harambe proud and honor the late Gorilla on Twitter. McKinley tweeted, “A year ago a legend was taken away from us. #RIPHarambe #riseup”

The disclaimer didn’t technically need to be there, as any bro’s bro would have been down with saying that was Harambe. For the plethora of lost souls out there on the internet, just do whatever you think would make Harambe proud and do that.

You don’t have to put anything out for him, but he’d appreciate it if that’s what your offering as your form of respect. While McKinley technically plays for the Falcons, he’s clearly playing for Harambe. It doesn’t matter who you play/work for, you can always choose to respect Harambe.

RIP Harambe.
