Coming hot off the announcements of Metroid Prime 4 and a Pokemon Switch game at E3 2017, it looks like they also have release dates in 2018.

If there was one game we wanted to see announced at E3 2017, it was Metroid Prime 4. Sure enough, Nintendo delivered. Unfortunately, we still don’t know much about the game. However, according to Venture Beat, Nintendo’s Charlie Scibetta confirmed that it’ll be releasing in 2018. He stated the Pokemon Switch game will also be releasing next year as well.

As of right now, we know little to nothing about both of these games. When it comes to Metroid Prime 4, we know Retro Studios isn’t developing the game. This is a bit strange, considering that the studio developed the first three Metroid Prime games along with producer Kensuke Tanabe. But we know Retro is working on another big project.

Tanabe has stated he has a very talented development team working on Metroid Prime 4. That sounds very promising, and if it’s anything like the first three games, then we’re in for something special. As long as we don’t get another Federation Force, it can’t be so bad.

As for Pokemon, much of the Switch game is a mystery. At first, it was rumored Pokemon Sun and Moon would be ported to the Switch and be called Pokemon Stars. Then at E3 2017, Nintendo revealed Game Freak is working on an all new Pokemon RPG for the Switch. We figured this meant Stars is no longer happening.

However, rumors are still floating around that Stars may, indeed, be the game Game Freak is developing. Only time will tell at this point, but we believe we’ll learn a bit more later this year.

It’s awesome that both these games are coming next year. The lineup is looking pretty stacked for the rest of 2017, and 2018 can possibly be even better.
