The summer transfer window is approaching and every team’s fans are dreaming of a big signing.

It’s been a crazy week for transfer rumors, especially with news that Cristiano Ronaldo might make me eat my words. None of this year’s biggest names have signed yet, but most top clubs have made at least a minor deal so far.

Every week, FanSided will round up some of the most pie-in-the-sky gossip. Will it be Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Celtic? Paul Pogba back to Juventus? Ronaldinho out of retirement to play in MLS?

Here are the five dumbest transfer rumors for the week of June 23.

1. Joe Hart to Manchester United

Absolutely no way. Not only would Manchester City never sell Hart to their derby rivals, there’s also no reason United would want him. The embattled England keeper spent the last season with Torino on loan, but apparently may be headed back to the Premier League as it seems City want to part ways with him.

The Sun is reporting United might want Hart to replace David De Gea as their first choice keeper, which makes very little sense. If De Gea does end up at Real Madrid (going the other way in a rumored deal for Cristiano Ronaldo), United will definitely be looking for someone more capable than Hart to replace him.

The current backup keeper at Old Trafford, Sergio Romero, is probably more reliable than Hart in his own right. It would, frankly, be a waste of transfer budget money for United to buy Hart.
