Kevin Durant gets the last laugh at Russell Westbrook by wearing a cupcake hat with a ring on it

Sometimes it’s he who has the championship ring who gets the last laugh. After Kevin Durant went to the Golden State Warriors in free agency last offseason, Russell Westbrook put out an Instagram post full of cupcakes.

Yes, it was the Fourth of July, however, it turns out the term cupcake was something that players on Oklahoma City (and other teams) used to call players soft. Well, after Durant helped lead the Golden State Warriors to their second championship in three years, he decided to take a shot back at Westbrook with a very special custom hat.

As you can see, this is clearly a shot back at Westbrook since Durant has a championship ring now and Westbrook is still without one after the Thunder were bounced in the first round by the Houston Rockets.

Westbrook, without Durant had one of the best individual season in NBA history, averaging a triple double and is a finalist for MVP along with former Thunder teammate James Harden and San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard.

Durant has already said he will become a free agent again this summer, however, it’s to sign another deal for less money to help keep the Warriors together and at a championship level.

I don’t think the Durant and Westbrook feud is over by a long-shot. I’m sure at some point this summer, Westbrook will fire back at Durant and then they will battle it out on the court when the season starts.

That championship ring carries a lot of weight though, so the latest round of their spat has to go to Durant. You have to love the NBA offseason and we’re just getting started.
